Code Planning is a boutique Resource Management Consultancy based on Auckland’s North Shore. Code is Directed by Haden Mills who is a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute and holds a Bachelor of Planning(Hons) from the University of Auckland. Haden has over 10 years experience in planning in Auckland ranging from private consulting to being a senior planner, policy planner and a team leader at Auckland Council. We specialise in all aspects of urban and environmental planning including: - Resource consent applications - Notices of requirement and outline plans - Plan changes and submissions - Evidence for Council and Environment Court hearings - Iwi and community consultation - Plan and strategic policy advice and development “As a team leader for the Council I was sick of seeing applications go off the rails or not achieve the maximum design potential available for the site. This was often caused by a lack of understanding of the processes and planning provisions, I noticed this only got worse with the Unitary Plan. I felt that the process could be managed far more effectively in terms of cost and time for private sector clients. I decided to use my planning knowledge and my understanding of the Councils structures and processes in the private sector in an effort to help navigate the process in a simple and cost effective manner and ensuring that good design isn’t outweighed by a rulebook” Haden Mills, Director Code holds a number of core values: - We will be upfront and honest with our clients in terms of our opinions and the likelihood of a project being successful.
