Kaikoura's ONLY Dive Shop 5 Star PADI Dive Centre in Kaikoura, New Zealand 'Discover our Wild Wonders' Owners Steve and Michelle Blume welcome you to our and we hope to see you diving with us soon. Michelle Blume is originally from Christchurch and spent many weekends and holidays with you sister and parent in and around Kaikoura. Her father Maurie Smith was in the first team of Navy trained Police divers and loved diving in Kaikoura for Crayfish. Michelle has over 1000 dives and has a passion for critters, conservation and marine mammals of all sizes. Steve Blume started diving many years ago in Melbourne and quickly became a instructor. With a Mechanical Engineering Back ground Steve also gained an interest in Servicing. in 1997 Steve was employed by Tabata Australia (TUSA) to manage the Warehouse and develop the Technical Repair and Training call TUSACARE. the program went global 2 years later and Steve was invited to write the service manuals for TUSA and conduct training in the US. During his time at Tabata he was appointed Product Manage and given POSEIDON and SONY to expand. In 2006 Steve was asked to join SCUBAPRO as the Marketing and Technical Manager, his role included helping Hong Kong and Japan regional centres with Marketing and training. In 2008 Steve was awarded the Johnson Outdoors Chairmans Award for the Diving Employee of the year Globally. In 2012 Steve started First Stage Service and Training, an independent service centre that also helps certify industry staff to become technicians. His TQS courses are in demand in many countries such as the Philippines and PNG. First Stage is still running and will continue to grow and is now seen as one of the biggest service centres in Australia. After almost 900 dives together Steve and Michelle have decided to move back to New Zealand and on November 1st 2016 Steve and Michelle Purchase Dive Kaikoura. On November 13 Steve and Michelle were with the old owners celebrating the future of Dive Kaikoura, little did they know what was about to happen would change their lives for ever...
