We offer the Level 5 National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care. This is an introduction to Early Childhood Education, a fast-growing industry worldwide. There is a serious shortage of ECE workers in NZ and most of our graduates get jobs quickly. The National Certificate in ECE is ideal if you want to work in NZ with children. You'll also get work experience during the course. Graduates mostly gain a full-time job and continue to study part time towards a level 7 diploma or degree. Course consists of 28 unit standards Entry with NCEA Level 2 or high school graduation International students need IELTS 5.5, with no band less than 5.0, or equivalent Duration of 1 academic year, or 36 weeks Start dates every month International fees $17,960 including enrolment fee and coursebooks Domestic fees $4,800 including enrolment fee and coursebooks Minimum age 17 years The National Certificate belongs to the New Zealand government and was designed to provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge to enable them to work in New Zealand childcare centres. It gives credit of up to a year towards the Diploma in ECE or Bachelor of Education degree.
