The Mangere East Rugby League Football Club was founded in 1963 and is home to 'The Mighty Hawks'

The Mangere East Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1963. In 1971 the club errected a 6000sq ft club house which was built at Walter Massey Park, the clubs home ground since its foundation. The club adopted the nickname “The Hawks” in 1973, after forming a sister club partnership with the Ryde-Eastwood Hawks in Sydney. We were one of the first clubs in Auckland to adopt a nickname. Our club strives to provide a sustainable and successful base for young people and the wider Mangere community, through success in Rugby League, Netball & recently Rippa Rugby. Having recently celebrated our 50 year jubillee the club is flourishing with more & more talented young men and women. Go the ‘Mighty Hawks’

Our Mission To promote, foster and control the game of Rugby League Football and Sports under the jurisdiction and rules of the New Zealand Rugby League Inc of which the Club shall be a member. To promote, control, arrange and otherwise participate in rugby league football matches and football competitions and such other sports, games and pastimes as may be approved from time to time and to encourage healthy and rational recreation and social intercourse for its members, provided that at all times the game of rugby league football shall be the principal activity of the club and all other activities shall be secondary To provide playing fields, changing rooms and club rooms for the use and enjoyment of the members of the club and for the better enjoyment of the game of rugby league football or other game, sport or social activity
