MyFuneralWishes is an on-line service to help you plan and personalise your own funeral, so it reflects the way you lived. Becoming a member of MyFuneralWishes does not take the place of a Will, which is very important, but allows you to eliminate the guesswork for your loved ones during a difficult time. In many cases, the Will may not contain the information that you can provide at MyFuneralWishes nor may it be located or read in time for the funeral. Being able to get access to your wishes on MyFuneralWishes, as well as other important information your executors or funeral organiser need to know, will allow your loved ones more time to celebrate your life. FROM THE FOUNDER At every funeral I have attended I have noticed the stress and the grief that the spouse, family, friends and relatives endure when somebody dies. Spouse, family, friends and relatives have enough to deal with when you pass away and at a time like this we all know that vital information can be overlooked or forgotten due to the grief and stress we are going through. No matter what your age, you can die suddenly or tragically, and nobody will have any idea what sort of funeral you wanted, and vital information can be difficult for people to remember. My experience in the Insurance Industry has shown me that many people do not have a Legal Will so it was obvious that if you died suddenly it is very unlikely that anyone would know what your funeral wishes are. You could record your own funeral wishes on a piece of paper but how would someone know where that paper was kept ? What if you went to the trouble of writing out all of your funeral wishes and then they weren’t even used. The only way to solve this problem was to bring in technology. With cloud computing now the world norm, I set about creating a secure place in the cloud where you could record and store all of this information for a very small annual fee. This is able to be accessed after your death by trusted individuals chosen by you, and we keep it secure from them while you are alive so they can’t just login to your account and have a sneaky peek at your personal and private information.
