As a member of the Access Radio collective (ACAB) we aim to provide radio by, for and about the communities we serve. We are a not-for-profit community organisation that makes real-people media possible. We are a global community, living and acting locally to give an unmediated voice to all perspectives, cultures and languages.

Auckland is a very diverse city with around 400,000 people not having English as their first language. At Planet FM we provide the facilities, advice, training and technical support needed for community groups and individuals to make their own radio programmes, on-air and online. English shows include green topics, local issues, books, disabilities, gay and elders radio, a mental health forum, settlement and music… along with community magazines, news, health and beliefs in 48 languages.
