RED BARON MOTORCYCLES NZ LTD Red Baron Motorcycles is a Japanese based motorcycle company that was formed in 1972 by Hitoshi Sugiura, originally called Yamaha AUTO Center changing to Red Baron in 2004, during this time many more shops were opened, getting to 100 shops in 1989, 150 shops in 1995 and today we have over 300 in Japan as well as 8 international shops, Thailand, Hungary (3 shops), Brazil (2 shops) and New Zealand (2 shops). Today Red Baron is the largest Motorcycle retail chain in the World. Red Baron first came to New Zealand in 1991 buying a half share in the famous Graeme Crosby Motorcycles in Grey Lynn, Auckland, this relationship continued until February 1998 when Graeme sold his half of the business to Red Baron. In 2007 TSS Motorcycles in Lower Hutt came on board as TSS Red Baron and continues to sell our quality Japanese import motorcycles into Wellington. Red Baron supplies New Zealand with quality motorcycles from the network in Japan. These bikes are checked thoroughly before they leave including a mileage check, an engine check and a run on a dyno to make sure they are producing the correct power (as per the manufacturers specifications). If they pass this then they go for a Chassis check where they are electronically measured for correct alignment to make sure they haven’t been in a major accident. Once they arrive in New Zealand they go through a compliance check which is much tougher than a wof, we service them and obtain an independent WOF from VTNZ for them before they are ridden by customers. We support LAMS Learner riders through providing free 1 day rider training courses as well as sponsoring independent track day tuition via the ART days (run by the Auckland Motorcycle Club). We also sponsor the NZ Road Racing Championships.
