Our SMART shop is a full therapy shop with affordable products . The therapy shop was developed based on a need I found after working overseas for 15 years and struggling to get resources that I recommend to parents. .We provide a range of developmental and sensory toys / tools specifically chosen to meet each child's need by our internationally experienced therapist.

Nicola is one of the few therapists worldwide to be invited to receive direct mentorship and training under the two of the world experts in the field Sensory processing disorder /dyspraxia and the SOS approach to feeding ( picky eaters). She travels to the states regularly and receives direct mentorship at the top therapy and research center in the world. This honour enables her to provide expertise, therapeutic approaches and educations that are Unique to New Zealand.

The S.M.A.R.T center ( Sensory,Motor And Research based Therapy) was developed out of a need seen after returning from working in Canada for 15 years. The SMART center was set up after listening to parent’s stories and being frustrated as a therapist due to the lack of services and struggles of families and children. Our mission came from a need to develop a " one stop shop” for families in Auckland. Our mission includes providing exceptional collaborative services (between professionals), education and increasing awareness, group work, supports for children and parents and mostly to provide gold standard /up to date therapeutic approaches to New Zealanders based on the latest research and international expertise. Our mission is to think outside the box, listen and hear your unique story, represent your child and family and bridge the gaps in education and healthcare by increasing awareness. As a therapist with 20 years experience my personal mission is to find out "why" and "what" and "where".... Diagnosis isn't enough, "why" a child is struggling and "where" that stems from is the only way to treat and support them. My therapy is unique, there is no one approach my mission is to hear, to understand, to problem solve and to support and mostly to collaborate with families, other professionals when needed, schools and help you advocate for your child. Too many children are falling through the gaps and are not understood, education is needed and awareness is paramount and the child level but at the education and political level also.
