A privately owned Chinese school which provides extra tuition for school aged students in subjects such as: English, Chinese, Fine Art, Mathematics.
West Auckland Afterschool Education Center was founded by Yingmei Gao in 1996. Since the year 2000 the school was run by Youshun Chen. Throughout these 19 years we continue to maintain and hold serious and responsible working attitude. We do our best to run this special education enterprise with high quality and standard. We believe education goes hand in hand with culture. Our main objective is to let students have solid fundamental knowledge and develop their originative ability, to pass on Chinese culture, to let them adapt themselves to the local society, to enhance our next generation’s cultural quality, and to lay a good foundation for their future career. At present there are mainly five courses, Chinese, Math, Fine Art, English and Abacus in our school. Each course is divided into different levels according to student’s age and actual ability. With small classes, we believe teaching is more effective. Every class has a syllabus and teaching is carried on in terms of the plan. Homework is left after each class and in the end of each term there is a test and the result is reported to parents. In the end of a year, excellent students will be awarded. We have classes from Monday to Sunday. Classes are on once a week with each class being an hour and half. The school follows the primary school terms, with around 10 week each term and four terms per year. Our school is located in the centre of New Lynn. There are plenty of free parking beside the school building. 本“教育中心”于1996年由高映梅老师创办并任校长，直至2000年由陈幼舜老师接管并任校长。十多年来，教师们始终如一坚持认真、负责的工作态度，不断学习，总结经验，与时俱进，力求高水平办好这一教育事业。在我们这些热衷于教育事业的专业教师们的努力下，本“教育中心”不断成长，稳步发展。在2011年4月在北岸创办了北岸分校，2012年4月在东区创办了东区分校。 我们办教育注重与社会结合，为学生服务。目的在于培养学生扎实的基本功和富于创造性的自学能力。从而提高科学文化素质，增强自身能力，为他们的前程奠定良好的基础。 我们开设中文、数学、美术三门主要课程，另外还开办科学、英文和珠心算等科目。各科有从幼儿至青少年各级水平的班级。各科自编教学大纲，每学期按计划进行教学。堂堂留作业，期期有测验。年终有升级考核，并给家长汇报。年终表彰优秀学生，对在国内外各种竞赛中获得优秀成绩的学生发放奖金，以资奖励。 上课时间为周一至周五放学后和周六、周日全天。各科各班每周上课一次。每次1-2小时。一年分四学期。开学、放假时间和小学同步。 上课地点在购物中心附近的商业大楼里。学习环境明亮、整洁和舒适。交通方便，有大量免费停车位。
